GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering)
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.The GATE committee, which comprises of representatives from the administering institutes, is the sole authority for regulating the examination and declaring the results.GATE is conducted through the constitution of eight zones.
GATE 2012 online examination for AE, AG, AR, GG, MN and TF papers will be held on 29th January 2012 (Sunday)
GATE 2012 offline examination for all other papers will be held on 12th February 2012 (Sunday)

JAM (Joint Admission Test for Joint MSc-PhD)
Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is an all-india examination administered and conducted across the country jointly by the seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of INdia. JAM is an all India Entrance examination for admission to M.Sc. (Two Year), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree and other post - bachelor degree programmes at IITs.
